Oil On The Brain: Petroleum’s Long, Strange Trip to Your Tank took me 4 years to research and write. It was published in 2007 by Nan Talese/Doubleday, and got very nice reviews. Here’s one by Ted Conover from the New York Times Book Review.
Oil On The Brain won a Northern California Book Award for Nonfiction and was named one of the 25 Notable Books of 2007 by the American Library Association.
You can still buy the book at Powells or at Amazon.
The quote I always wanted to put on the cover of the book was something legendary Texas wildcatter Michel Halbouty said to his secretary after he spoke with me: “She took a lot of my time. I hope she writes a good book.”
